PunkerBunker guide
Definitions
These are the terms used in the transfer steps.
- Current wallet
- The wallet that currently holds the NFTs you want to move. If live transfers are enabled, this is the wallet that connects and signs them.
- Bunker wallet
- The wallet you choose to hold the NFTs after the transfer. For the public-key precaution, create a new bunker wallet that has never signed a transaction or message, and whose public key has not been exposed. The name does not guarantee safety.
- Wallet address
- The address you paste into PunkerBunker. It tells the blockchain where to send the NFTs. Check the entire address in your own wallet; matching the beginning and end is not enough.
- Private key
- The secret used to sign for a wallet. Anyone with it can control that wallet. PunkerBunker never needs your private key or recovery phrase.
- Public key
- The public part of a signing key. On Ethereum and Base it can be recovered from a signed transaction or some signed messages. It is different from the wallet address.
- Signing
- Using a private key to approve a transaction or message. A message signature can expose a public key even if it never appears on the blockchain. A failed signed transaction can expose it too.
- New wallet
- Here, a newly created wallet that has never signed a transaction or message, and whose public key has not been exposed. Reusing an existing private key does not make a wallet new. An address with no outgoing transactions is not enough to prove this.
- Wallet check
- The first step: a check of the bunker wallet address and the available blockchain history. It cannot prove that you control the wallet, or that its public key has never been exposed elsewhere. In this alpha, real history checks are incomplete.
- Address test
- A small ETH payment with an exact amount, sent from the current wallet to the bunker wallet. PunkerBunker checks the payment and you confirm it in your own wallet. The ETH stays in the bunker wallet.
- NFT test
- A transfer of one selected NFT before the other transfers. You confirm that it arrived in the bunker wallet. It does not prove that every other NFT can be transferred successfully.
- Migration
- The full transfer plan from one current wallet to one bunker wallet on one network. It may include multiple batches. The planned service fee on Ethereum and Base is 0.01 ETH for the whole migration.
- Bulk transfer
- Moving many selected NFTs through one reviewed plan. The NFTs are grouped into batches. A bulk transfer can require multiple transactions or wallet confirmations.
- Batch
- A group of NFTs in the transfer plan. Depending on the NFTs and transfer method, a batch may require more than one transaction or wallet confirmation.
- Network fee / gas
- The fee paid to process a blockchain transaction. It is separate from the PunkerBunker service fee and can change before you send.
- Standard transfer
- A transfer to a wallet that has already exposed its public key. You must explicitly agree to this. It does not provide the public-key precaution; the other address and delivery checks still apply.
- Transfer record
- A saved copy of the plan and reported results. The app stores it on your device and lets you download it. Importing a record does not make its old checks or receipts trusted.
- Sample
- A walkthrough with example NFTs, amounts, checks, and transfer results. It does not connect a wallet, request signatures, charge a fee, or move funds or NFTs.
